MOTION BY SUPERVISOR YVONNE BRATHWAITE BURKE September 26, 2000

On Tuesday, September 5, at approximately 7:45PM, Ms. Amber Laskey was shot and killed as she stood in a group with three other individuals in front of a residence in the 1900 block of West 112^th Place in the unincorporated Athens area of Los Angeles. She was pronounced dead at the scene. Amber was only 16 years old.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is looking for witnesses who may have seen the shooting and might be able to provide information which may be helpful in apprehending the suspect(s).

THEREFORE, I MOVE THAT THE BOARD:

Approve the establishment of a $5,000 reward for any information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or persons responsible for the murder of Amber Laskey.
