SYN. NO. AGN. NO.
MOTION BY SUPERVISOR DON KNABE September 26, 2000
On July 6, 2000, Governor Davis signed the Transportation Omnibus Trailer Bill, which provides $6.8 billion for transportation purposes Statewide over the next six years. This legislation, which includes the Governor's Traffic Congestion Relief Plan, represents the largest General Fund investment in transportation in California's history. Included in the legislation is a nearly $1 billion commitment to cities and counties to fund repairs to local streets and roads. This results in $97.5 million over six years being provided directly to the County of Los Angeles for rehabilitation of highways within County unincorporated areas.
The Governor and the State Legislature are to be commended for recognizing the transportation needs of the State, the cities, and the counties.
I, THEREFORE, MOVE that the Board direct the Executive Officer to send a letter to Governor Davis and to each member of the County's legislative delegation indicating our appreciation for their commitment to the transportation needs of Los Angeles County and the State of California.
